Talking 1400 trouble free miles

Just got home last night from a trip to N. GA. Total of 1435 miles, average of 24.3 mpg at an average speed of 80+ The big hills in NE GA were the only thing that slowed me down. Also the only time I saw any smoke from the tail. Another thing I noticed is the fuel I bought in Ga seems to be better in quality than the FL stuff. I got better fuel economy, more power, etc. Color was also different. FL fuel from the Flying J's is a light green color, GA fuel from the same stations was a light amber color. Don't know if this is a winter vs summer blend, or a state air quality thing but I got 26+ mpg in GA and a little less than 23 running in Florida.

Nothin' like a long road trip in a diesel benz. I'm going out to Ohio this week, 1200 miles round trip. Some people may frown at that idea, but I can hardly wait!

HEY! rebootit, i see you live in st. petersburg!! that makes two of us(well, sort of, i live in seminole). If you ever want any help doing anything, and dont mind an 18 year old helping you, shoot me an email. My family took a trip up to atlanta over thanksgiving of this year, and i noticed the same thing with fuel that you did, of course, it could have been the cooler climate allowing the turbo to work better too.

Thanks Ryan I will keep that in mind. Good to know there is someone around who won't run when I mention I may need some help.
