Alda seals

Anyone tried these?

Mercedes Alda Seal Kit 1427133150 OM603 OM617 Turbo Aneroid Compensator | eBay

It's a lot of money for a couple of o-rings, but I can't find a spec, and they don't seem to be generally available as a kit.

So why do you want to do this? What is the issue you are having?

i was just thinking about this the other day, as i remember long ago testing the alda and finding that it slowly leaked pressure. not sure how significant this is.

The first thing to check is whether the aneroid capsules are intact and functional, if they aren't there is no repair that can be made.

I think I would just remove it before I tried to repair it.

HELLO EVERYONE.

my names ben and i am the seller of these seals.

yes they are expensive but by the time i go buy them and post them i really make hardly anything. anyway i m about to put a few more up on ebay.

plus i have a very good video that i will put on youtube of how the alda works, because most people dont realize that restricts the rack until it comes onto boost , no pushes it.

anyway. after years of stuff around and manually adjusting my pump i got 740nm at the wheels out of my om 603 w124. stock engine and stock usa ip pump.

i am happy to help with your problems.
because iv probably come across them myself
shoot me an email on .

Here's the video from Dieselmeken replacing the seal, takes a 10x2.5mm O-Ring from Advance Auto, no need for an expensive kit.

Not a good decision. The ALDA plays an important role in fuel regulation and it shouldn't be removed.

I have the MW-style ALDA from my failed attempt at removing it from Mutt. Do you want it to mess around with? The Superpump utilizes the external-style ALDA so I won't need the other one.

This is a good informative thread I am going to take a close look at my alda on 617 to see if it leaks as I want to get the best performance possible right now my 0-60 time is about 18 sec. On my 85 sd. with 10 psi. of boost.

In Dieselmeken's YouTube video, the ALDA on the bench leaks like crazy. I wonder if everyone's need for adjustment is simply compensating for this leakage. Seal replacement would be much better for long term satisfaction.

Working up to removing the alda and replacing both seals. Along the way, I found one very interesting problem. The "Y" connector directly before the Alda had a very subtle leak. I thought the leak was in the Alda itself, because the connector looks perfect. But if I bend the connector, a large hole opens up. Replaced this and my power is very strong. I still want to do the Alda seals, but it's not a rush now.

Looks like it. I'll stick it in a box and send it off.

Should I put the 1 3/4 radiator hose T in the box too? The 1 1/4 fits perfectly though I have yet to wire the fans (been messing with Mutt).

Dan
