87 300TD parts upgrades and spares from 91 350SDL
There's a 91 350SDL at the local pick a part set yesterday. It had a tow sticker from a local apartment complex on the window. Just over 200K on the odometer.
What parts should I grab for upgrades and spares to be used on my 87 300TD? I'm planning on taking the IP and rocker cover. Is the glow plug relay compatible?

The exhaust manifold is the same as the 87, the better one did not come out til 92 on the w140
The turbo is the 55 trim t3 and would be a direct swap with your current setup. Check the head! I've seen a #22 on a 90 before, you could get lucky |

Head with injectors and glowplugs (is later design) afterglow relay and harness, injector lines, turbo, dual temp sensor (for afterglow), I.P., vacuum pump, timing chain cover (later style), spare fan clutch, alternator.

You might grab the turbo air intake hose as well. Non ARV turbos require a longer hose. No guarantee a 126 hose will fit a 124 though.

I'd consider the leather wrapped steering wheel also.

Not sure on the 124, but I managed to use the same hose with a non arv turbo on my 126...although it was getting pretty close to the edge.

I'm using the original hose in my 124, small difference and soft rubber elbow. Not perfect but it clamps in place. Also, I replaced my AFM with a straight pipe, which might be allowing a little more movement so I am not sure if that is helping.

Are the guts from this diff good for building a W124 LSD if an ASR car?

Update
Decent day at the yards today. I got lots of parts but I need to go back.
At the first yard I found a 93 300E with good interior: Passenger seat, both front door cards and floor mats, wooden shift handle, good center switch wood panel. At the second yard I found a 91 300TE: factory roofrack crossbars, leather wrapped steering wheel, headlight wiper arms. The 350SDL has a 20 head. It also has an exchange tag on the block. I will try to get a bit more info from the local dealer if any available. My plan is to pull the whole engine and transmission for the half off day next Saturday.

You'll need a special socket for the head, but I would definitely grab it, worst case you can sell it on eBay for several hundred dollars. There's a 22 head (or was..) at my yard I have been meaning to go get.

Complete engine is a good grab, probably cheaper than the individual parts. Even if the block is no good, the crank is valuable to stroke the M104 I believe.
