I "second" mach4's advice. I drive CA, AZ, & NV all year round. Been doing it for over 400,000 miles on the SDL. Never had a problem with the vendors noted above. I just make sure there are a lot of trucks fueling up. Actually kind of fun pulling in amongst the rigs. Otherwise in a pinch I use Chevron when traveling.

I just barely missed the sun ominously poking from behind the clouds at a rest stop in Ohio. Would have made for a better photo.

These next four are taken at a spot I used to hang out at as a teenager when I lived up there in Midland, MI. Thought it would make for some nice photos.

I made it home around 11:00 today. Slept in the car at a rest stop near Mt. Airy, NC. Yesterday, I tried securing a upper radiator hose (thanks, PARSHOOT1 and dieselpaul!) Paul didn't have one, but recommended trying NAPA in Columbus and they had one! I drove on the old hose for a little bit, then once it got dark I did the job at a rest stop. Cost $25 and rubs on the AC line but it was totally worth it for me. I'll pick up an MBZ one on my next pelicanparts order.

Always nice to see members help each other with advices & actual help. Only thing you can do repay is help each other when you see somebody in need. Doesn't have to be a Mercedes enthusiast or not.. Nice car by the way..
