W123 wagon tail lights now $450+

The lens only sucka. You want the rest ... they want your first born child.

Crazy man crazy.

somebody should make guards like for off road vehicles.

I'm planning guards for the backup lens which is $40 each.

Outragous

You drive old vehicles, you pays the money. You can buy new cylinder heads for a Roll-Royce Merlin now, and they cost...

Exclamation WOW

I had my 300TD re painted a few years back and the idiots in the body shop broke every lens on it .

I got lucky and found a pair of N.O.S. Mercedes taillights for $200 each in Ct. ~ I asked if they had anymore , they said nope , that's the end of those , good luck .

I found one in the P-N-P a few years ago for $25. Also a spare SLS pump for $35. And a complete set of Euro wagon bumpers for $120, to put my Euro TD back to original someday. Probably should've grabbed a bunch of other parts.
Never found the other tail-light.
But hey, one is better than none!

Happy Motoring, Mark

There are used assemblies, not just the lens for approx 90% less in the used parts forum on this site! I think the seller is Sugar Bear

I'm running the eurotech reproduction wagon tails. They're beautiful. When I bought them it was $245 shipped for the pair.

I guess if I ever need the side I don't have, I can stick a universal trailer light back there. It won't be pretty, but it'll pass inspection!

Mike, thank you so very much for this information!

The reason for the thank you is looks like now manufacture tail light lenses for the other vehicle I own, just hope actually fit (other aftermarket the fit was lousy).

However, they no longer provide an option for Mercedes 300TDs.

Thanks for the offer.
I'll check the spares bag on my rear floor, but I don't really need the other tail-light yet.
I just like to grab what I can at the Pick-N-Pull - especially hard to find spares for my wagon. I wish I'd had more time & storage room to get some of the other stuff (tailgate, windows, rear doors, etc....) off that Euro 230TE a few years ago. Getting the complete set of Euro wagon bumpers was my major score off that car. Though, while I'd love to put my wagon back to it's Euro glory, I still want to be able to keep using this car in today's hazardous traffic. So I do appreciate the robust US bumpers that are on it now.

Happy Motoring, Mark

Talking

" after all, you drive an older car and don't have common sense...."

This describes me pretty well .

I only wish I had lots of money to spend on N.O.S. trim parts .

I was at the Virginia Beach Pick-N-Pull yesterday. They had a '98 BMW 740il out front, priced at 1499.00. Those things used to cost about $80-90K!
In the yard, I saw a pretty 200? Mercedes C240. Both cars were straight, with decent paint. These days, I see a lot of shiny, undamaged, and even newer, vehicles in there. I wonder what high-tech failures sent them to the bone-yard?
I'll bet my '96 Camry (which has become the W123 of the '90s) is now worth more than that BMW.

Yet, we must all become zombie-consumers, and enhance the waste-stream by sending our vintage rides to the scrapyard. Then replace 'em with one of today's disposable technological wonders - on credit of course so we'll be eternally in debt! Which we'll be paying off long after today's wonder has followed it's predecessor into the shredder!

Happy Motoring, Mark
