Cool TXBill is my hero

A huge thanks goes out to the general spirit of this forum which is to help each other. I needed someone to step up to the plate and check out an ebay car for me. TXBill did so which gave me more confidence to bid. So I landed a great MB last night and can't wait to get it for my wife who really enjoys the 300D-T. [item #1826422924 if you care to look]

Hey.....anytime you southern guys need a rust bucket checked out, give us Michigan guys a call and we'll be glad to help.

Don

Yup, that looks like a real beauty. Nice color too, it's a little darker than china blue. The only thing I don't care for is the window tint.

Seems that every 300D I look at up here in Jersey is a real dog. I just looked at another today, 290K, ice blue, the guy used it for his air conditioning business, there was alot of parts in the back seat scraping everything up, and it looked like someone exploded a peice of sheetrock in there, dust everywhere. On top of that, he wired a switch into the climate control system to turn the blower on and off. Some people have no respect for these cars and just treat them like the workhorses they are.

Enough of my rambling, good luck with your new beauty!

Thanks for the support everyone. As for "turbodiesel", I also enjoy your description of what cars look like inside. "Explosion...." lol

Nice. Congrats. I feel some more envy coming on! 'Course there's no way I can have them all. 'Good to see others enjoying them, too.

Almost identical to the 1980 300D non turbo I looked at yesterday. Interesting shade of blue. I'm in a quandry right now as I really have to restarain myself, especially since they are only asking $1900 OBO and the car only has 115K. I don't think the drive can handle any more rides right yet and I don't want to sell any.

Oh well, until then I'll breathe diesel fumes vicariously through you . Looks like a nice one.
