w116 300sd Upper Control Arms
1979 300sd (w116)
Excessive wear on the inside of tires. Took car in for alignment and tech showed me the problem, both upper control arms with major play. Tech said he cannot perform the alignment until both upper control arms are repaired. I am going to source out the steering and suspension parts so I need some advice. I got the following part numbers so far (1)123-330-46-07 UPPER CONTROL ARM-Front Left (1)123-330-47-07 UPPER CONTROL ARM- Front Right (2)116-330-01-75 LOWER CONTROL ARM-Repair Kit (2)116-333-09-27 LOWER FRONT JOINT STEERING BALL JOINT (2)116-333-40-14 UPPER OUTER Control Arm Bushings-Sway bar to Upper Arms What else do I need to do in the same areas where parts will be pulled off I will be taking the car to a shop and will be providing the parts. I'm hoping to find all Lemforder parts and hope that this manufacture is the way to go. Any advice greatly appreciated |

Lemforder is great. I would probably check the tie rods as well, maybe even do the shocks. Check the rear end as well.
I typically just replace everything in the suspension at the same time if I know it either hasn't been done recently or was done with crappy parts. On the W116 that shouldn't be too bad unless you are considering doing the rear subframe mounts.
