Help! Broken Crankshaft Sensor Connector
1 Attachment(s)
I am replacing the crankshaft sensor on my 99 E300D, during removal of the connector from the sensor I broke the connector, ugh!! One way to fix this is to replace the entire engine harness for $450. Does anyone know if I can repair the connector or change that wire instead of the entire harness?
Thanks, Mike Nemec 99 E300D 197K miles |
almost certainly yes. i would hack something together but if you're not comfortable doing that, take it to an auto electrical shop and ask them to fit you something.

If you can get one from a wreckers then you can solider the wires together with a good connector.

I gave the part number directly off of the connector to my local Mercedes dealer. The parts guy is telling me I can order that connector and the description says it comes with a cable. The part will be in on Wednesday, Ive got my fingers crossed.

the benz dealer will sell you either a separate connector and pins (old school) or a fully prepped connector which you need to solder on.

The part they gave me was a connector and cable with no pins, i crimped it in with a butt splice, back in business.
I left plenty of length in the cable to install the pins and do it the right way another day. I need the pins and any special tools to remove the pins from the connector, and to crimp the pins to the wires. Is anyone familiar with this? |
