Om617 starter bolts size?

The bolts rattled out of my starter on my 1984 300sd. I was wondering if anybody knew what the sizes were?

I'll grab a set off my shop floor and measure them. I'd guess m10, 1.5... x60mm

Rattled out?
Check for the front support bracket on the starter. Someone had replaced the starter for PO and left off this bracket. I was constantly having to replace main startet bolts.

Note: It's a pricey little bugger. IIRC, about $50.

Junk yards are a good source but I don't consider them free because of the time involved. Sometimes, it's even less costly to buy something than find it in my junk bin where things get lost but are there "somewhere".

I'm pretty sure those are M12x1.75mm. 80mm long with unthreaded shank, I think the thread is 30mm long?

My car had two hex socket bolts, which I replaced with Grade 8.8 hex head bolts. Now I can remove the starter from above, without needing to take out the engine to clear the sound insulation.

They are m12 1.50 80mm, trick to putting the top one on is to use a ratchet with an adjustable angle.
