'95 124 Engine Compartment Sound Deadening Panel

I don't know if this piece is for sound deadening or whatever. Do know it is missing about a third of itself on the right hand side after gluing two two pieces together. It fits just forward of the wiper motor/cabin air filter compartment. Can anyone tell me the proper name of the piece and where I might find a replacement? Apologize for the image quality.

Have you used the MB EPC before? It will be in the parts catalog, I think in engine compartment section

No, I have not used MB EPC before and not likely I will. Googled it and came up with a $75 subscription fee (1 year!). More likely to go to the parts counter at an MB dealer and ask. Thanks anyway.

that is for sound deadening, and I see you are missing the thumb screws that hold it too.

You can go the OEM material or opt for a better one, audio shops sell it, you can even buy something from mcmastercarr that would be industrial spec.

Well, went to the MB parts counter for my fair share of abuse. Came away with a part number and a $134 price. That probably won't happen in my life time. Will look into audio shops - McMasters and fabricate something myself. Thanks for the help.

I'd try a wrecker. They would probably only charge a few dollars if anthing at all.

Hmmm, unless it has recently changed or you are overseas, it is free for US residents. A credit card is required as part of the process to verify your residency.

Many posters have said that the US price has changed for 2016, $75. Mine was end of last year, still free, but I won't update for $75 as I hardly ever use it.

As far as that piece, I believe that it is two pieces in my car, locks together in the middle. Mine wraps around both ends and has two attachment points on each piece (had it off today for the windshield replacement).
