Jay bob,

I have no idea. Fuse 12 was fine and there was no corrosion evident or boogers of any kind interfering with its spoon to the contacts.

Got in the car to go to work today and they worked. So, Gremlins I suppose. That or a failing relay??

Dunno.

It was probably just the fuse which was making poor contact.

Things that fix themselves usually break or as some say brake themselves in short order.

Reminds me....I need to fix my breaks ....or is it brakes?

Will Bern debate Trump? Hopefully.

Who is Trump for? Oh yeah, Trump.

OOPS, I lost my forum manners. Will stay on topic next time.

Tells you nothing since each of those console circuits are powered via different wires from the fuse box.

I 4th, "check the fuses". One give-away is when diagonal windows stop working (LF & RR), since they share a fuse. Most times when my windows and sunroof have stopped working, it was the fuse. The silver (tin-coated) ones are particularly prone to corrosion. One guy here posted a link where I bought some "bricks" of gold-plated ones fairly inexpensively. Otherwise, you will be removing and sanding the tips regularly, especially where you live.

I replaced the relay. It resides behind the instrument cluster. One relay controls all the windows. Its a pain to access. There is minimal slack in the wiring and the speedo cable. All of the windows now work like a champ.

Took forever to re-hook it. I ended up disconnecting a small connector in the engine bay which held the cable secure. That was the only way to get it reconnected.

85 300D two windows out - solution

The other day had the right front and left rear windows wouldn't move. I had an issue a few years ago with the right window not working and had to disassemble switch and clean contacts. I sprayed some contact cleaner into the switch operated it furiously for a couple of minutes but no joy.

Decided to look at the fuse panel under the hood. There were two fuses at the right side of the panel front rt/rear lt and front lt/rear rt. The appropriate one was blown. Someone had used an 8amp instead of the 15 amp recommended. It lasted quite a while.

While I was looking at it I checked the radio fuse and it was blown also. The radio\cigarette lighter circuit had been non operational for a year. It works again. I don't use the radio but it is nice to be able to have the cigarette lighter to plug in a cell phone charger.
