1999 E300D radiator removal

Hi guys.... I'm attempting to remove the existing radiator in my 1999 E300D, I have EVERYTHING disconnected and enough room to pull the radiator.

The only thing that appears to be holding me up is that the AC condenser on the driver's side will not lift and separate from the radiator like the passenger side has.... My question is: Is there a hidden bolt that secures the driver's side of the condenser in place somewhere towards the bottom?.... I did notice that the driver's side of the condenser has a service port for the refrigerant, is it possible that there is a bolt securing that line somewhere that will not allow the condenser to lift up enough to clear the plastic radiator support clip about half way down?

The passenger side of the condenser separates almost effortlessly

Thank you all in advance, and replies will be greatly appreciated.

Yes there are 2 bolts holding the radiator and condenser together. They are at the top.

You will need to remove the upper cross member, the auxiliary fan grill, and the aux fan assembly to find the bolts.

When you remove the upper cross member, unclip the hood release cable from the fasteners underneath. This gives you enough slack to lay the cross member across the engine.

Hi Bob, I've done all that and more... seems like the high pressure line on the drivers side of the condenser is bolted down hard somewhere that I cannot see. I can easily luft the passenger side of the condenser and separate it from the radiator tabs but not so on the drivers side

This will be of help,I saved the link to it earlier tonight as I want to clean my ac condensor fins out in the next few days.

Yep that is pretty much it. It's all very intuitive how it all goes together.
