I got the hoses back from the shop. I'm a bit bummed, though, because I could have got a new genuine Mercedes expansion valve to suction hose line for $73.20 and paid $50 to have one rebuilt. I could have got a new genuine Mercedes expansion valve to drier line for $86.40 and paid $100 have one rebuilt. So I didn't save my roommate any money on those two hoses and new ones would have been prettier instead of old rusty lines with new hoses on them. Oh, well.
He saved big on the suction hose, though. That one only cost $100 to have rebuilt versus hundreds for a new one. Looking back on it, I would have still had the suction hose rebuilt, but then got the other two lines new from Mercedes.
The shop used Galaxy hose (Made in USA), which is apparently a Continental product. I'm kind of bummed out that they didn't wire-wheel or clean up the metal lines. They welded on a new nut that attaches to the condenser and welded on a new fitting on the condenser.
