When I bought the 240D I wondered why a couple of scratches on the factory wheel edge weren't rusty, close look and it's got Aluminum wheels with hubcaps! Who knew?

...and if you plan to switch wheels, the bundt style wheels have a different lug bolt than the wheels that accept the wheel covers (or "embellishment" as MB calls them).

You are 100% correct.
The Bundt bolts may work on the front wheels, but on the rear wheels they will interfere with the Parking brake assy.
They are short, black with a recess in the head with the MB logo stamped on it.

Bundt bolts MAY work if the excess thread is cut off.

Thanks.
They pop up on eBay from time to time. I have the part number somewhere but I cant seem to find it. I know if you search here its in one of my old posts. I snagged a full set of the correct clips a few years ago for my light alloy wheels which are STILL sitting in my basement waiting for new rubber. Once I finally rebuild the front suspension on my 240D its getting the hubcaps back.

The clips for the aluminum wheel has a Teflon plastic pad to keep the clip from gouging the metal.

part# 123-400-00-27

I knew if I kept digging around I would find the Part#.
