Diesel weight mobil 1 turbo diesel oil.. Quieter than rotella. I noticed this after I was on a budget and put in rotella. It's more expensive, and if u have any oil leaks, synthetics gonna find it.. Better lubrication on the top end too

What possible gain do you expect by switching from a product that has served you well for so many years? Consistency is a wonderful thing for both cars and people as they get older.

For me, the reason to switch to synthetic would be that it doesn't degrade at the same rate as dino—
From what I've read, if you use conventional oil you've got to change every 3 months (or 6 months? or 12 months? (depending on who you believe)) because as soon as the bottle is cracked the oil starts degrading regardless of miles driven.

I drive my Mercedes very little, and like the idea that synthetic will last for 1-3 years and still provide the same protection throughout the period.

I just bought my 6th W123 this week, (an '83 300CD) and am considering switching over for that reason. Make sense or misguided?
