"Mint" - You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.
Unless maybe it comes with a mint in the glovebox or something...

Every time I see an ad of this sort I wonder what dictionary these folks are consulting. My guess is that they pick words that they think will get people to look. Or they're just plain stupid. That hunk o' junk is anything but "mint" though it might yield useful parts for someone.

BTW - "mint" means "as if fresh from the mint" like a new penny. My understanding is that "mint" comes from the coin collecting world. This poor ol' thing has been rolling around someone's pocket for generations.

I think this guy knows exactly what the word "mint" means and he's just being purposely sarcastic. He knows it's a hunk a junk, hence the 500 bucks asking price.

Pretty clear the ad isn't serious.

I SO hope you're right. If you are, his sense of humor is a bit drier than mine as I didn't pick it up from the text of the ad. I often don't "get" East Coasters and they don't get me so I guess we're even.

This ad is far more complex than the OP in this thread can fathom.

Some data points:
The ad has complete sentences and punctuation where most delusional condition ads do not.

The mint is in quotes ( well * if you get picky. )

The price is correct.

From the ad "PS This is not a starter car or safe for your daughter. " , this is pretty self explanatory.

The ad is rich with obscure references that only need a quick Google search to explain.

" I have traversed the Serengeti of my life in this vehicle, we have had many wonderful times together but I'm looking to turn the page, I'm thinking of getting an Alfa Romeo, 2 seats just me and a babe that sounds good right?

This is not just a car it's a lifestyle. it's a European luxury vehicle with a tortoise shell interior. "

Breaking this down, the following sounds like a quote from a movie / play / TV show "I have traversed the Serengeti of my life in this vehicle. " . As it turns out the above is a quote with some artistic license.

Go here http://transcripts.foreverdreaming.org/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=16602 and do a text search for " Bob, I want to thank you for answering my ad so quickly. " and read the next few dozen lines.

And finally, does anyone pick up of the irony of where this quote came from and the OP in this thread?

He'll take $300 and you got a perfect parts car.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I love that show, can't believe I didn't notice the ad quoting that before.
