Talking to a neighbor on another street who came by yesterday, going to just store the '85 Mercedes for now.

As for the '79 TD, got a lot of parts. These are the prices thinking without shipping:
Full interior except carpet and headliner in tobacco - $500
Dash be only good for core - $25?
Front speaker grills - $50 for both
Center console - $25
Black plastic shifter surround - $25
Federal front lamps, plastic lenses shot - $150 for both
Air box except for the motor - $75
Various interior electrical lamps, switches, and ACCI
Interior mirror - $25
Belt line body trim and lower body trim -$100
Hinge pockets - $10 for the one with surface rust and $25 for the decent one
Front bumper and trim - $75
Front clip from the wheel wells forward - $100
Front doors, though have a bit of surface rust - $50 each
Electrical window regulators (got a set from the '85 as was going to go manual and have no interest in them) - $100 each (Prices are $100 to $200 each on eBay.)
Think that is all, as all I am finding for now.

Thank y'all in advance!

Would you part out the turbo?
Also how bad is the engine running or looking,
Is it a rear view mirror?

Right now, not ready to part. But, if you are looking for an outside passenger electric mirror, did swap the manual '79 onto the '85, just forgot...

Note that many Ebay prices include 12 - 13% total for Ebay/PayPal and shipping. Shipping is never free, just included in the price or not. Also, loading onto Ebay can be an arduous task - take pics, find and list all of the application data, prepare to ship, take to shipper, provide tracking number, respond to emails and on it goes.

I haven`t sold stuff on ebay in a long time, it just wasn`t worth the time with the questions, quotes, returns or else threats.
I do very well with European swap meets. I drive up to 5 hours, spend a weekend (usually camped out in the R class) with a trailer and sell enough to make it worth while, plus it is just a weekend then done, no back and forth, no pictures, no emails. If you can advertise ahead of the event to drum up some business (forums, craigslist, kijiji etc) it can only help. Some people you meet become really good customers and develop a trust or relationship (trades, swaps, storage, pick this up cause it is close to you), very helpful community. Others just waste your time, they come the next day to grab something and offer you half what you agreed on. You learn to judge people and figure out which ones are a waste of time. I often deal with pickers, they take stuff that is in demand for around half of retail on the forums, then deal with the storage of it, waiting for it to sell at top dollar. I don`t have the time, I would rather move the parts so I can scrap the next car in line or got get something unique to part out. I price everything pretty cheap and rarely ship, deal in person. The biggest problem, there are so few of these cars left and most who own them don`t care if the car is perfect, so the market for used parts is extremely limited.

Clacker, thank you so very much for the help!

Don't know of any European swaps anywhere in the Southwest, but will certainly keep it in mind, very good idea.

Ended up putting all the parts I don't need in the wrecked '85 parked in the front side drive, then put a tarp over her. Now it is all out of the way and can just wait rather than get ridiculously low offers ($300 for both wagons and the parts, the latter worth at least that in the two trailer hitches)). If someone makes me an offer for at least $1,500 and going to put one wagon back on the road, I totally go for it.

Plan is until then to just some day do it myself. Hurting nothing just sitting as will have to be torn down anyway. If have to move, will just have to figure out how to move them then. Until then, not going to even let it cross my mind.

Tarps trap water and result in rust especially when the car is not parked on cement. Unfortunately, several cars that I've had for a long time have destroyed bodies.
78 Datun Z that was hit, 78Z with convertible conversion started, 83ZT, 75MGB. Hoping to get to the 85SD parts car soon.

Yes, my poor Dad's Beetle is tarped and doesn't cover the leaking front windshield. It used to be his pride and joy, no one go near. Also was rust free, but bet now would need new pans and rockers despite being inland Southern California.

So, tarp is just loose over the open windows, for now. Then when get the bread, will purchase a good cover for her.
