w210 removing WVO system help

4 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys,

I am looking to remove a WVO on my 96 E300. The system has not been used in a long time and the computer for the system is missing. I just want to remove it and free up the space in the trunk.

I have a couple of questions, since the previous owner installed the system. I see all the components that I need to removed, but there have been modifications made to the piping for the diesel supply lines to mix the WVO with the diesel. If it remove these hoses, I do not know what the original set up looked like. I was wondering if someone had a diagram of the hoses in the area of the injection pump and the filter housing. I have attached a photo of what mine look like.

Also I will need to remove some piping that was installed for the coolant. If you look at the photos they added T connections to connect the hoses for heating up the WVO. What I am wondering is what size these hoses and where I could now just get a straight plastic piece to connect the 2 hoses together. see photos. One hose is next to the oil filter housing going through the fire wall and the other is on the passenger side above the alternator. If anyone has a suggestion it would be great.

Want to sell it ? Why can't you remove what's in the trunk and cap anything in the engine bay easier ?

Autozone sells an assortment of pipe connectors and tee fittings you may also find a nice collection at the local plumbing supply store

I do not like the extra piping and valves in the car especially that I am not using the system.

Does anyone have a photo of the piping set up of diesel lines to the filter housing and the IP pump. I do not know how the piping was set up before the modification was done on the system. If someone has a photo or a diagram I would be forever grateful.

I am going to try and get the system removed this weekend.

Its pretty straightforward altough difficult to tell from those photos what's what.

Fuel comes in top side of bulk head then makes it way to pre-heater located in the head, part 155 below.

It probably has a looped return which is the second pipe underneath the fuel delivery pipe (not shown below but probably visible in your modification setup)

That picture is for the 124 implementation of the OM 606 (in the U.S. It was the 1995 E300D), that still used vacuum shutoff that acts on the rack, so is not shown in this picture.

The 210 (starting with 1996 in the U.S.) uses electrical shutoff, and has an additional electrical shutoff valve on the IP that directly interrupts the fuel flow.

I will try to look later for a picture of the 96 system and post it.

Yep, a good few changes on the later ones.

Looking at the picture again, pipe 119 going right at the 'T' piece would be your return, many systems have this looped by way of a valve.
