I have been hearing about this 48 V dc bus for quite a while now. Saw an IEEE Spectrum article on this a few years back. I'm much better with 48 V dc than 480 V dc for hybrid energy storage. 48 V tingles you if you are wet. 480 V will kill you. Just a little concerned about the Li-Ion batteries.
Moving the large consumers to 48 V dc makes so much sense, particularly if they continue to mandate the auto start stop. I would be much better with auto start stop, if the engine started within 250-500 ms after I hit the pedal instead of 1+ second, and the air conditioner keeps working, that's vital down here in the southeast US.
