rear wipers always on, 300TD
Of course, it has to happen out of town when I'm without my tools.
Rainy Friday and Saturday, and I have been using my wiper on the TD, generally on intermittent. I got into the car on Saturday afternoon and the wiper came on with the key, and no fiddling with the buttons could shut it off. It's going to be a day or so before I can test the system, but if anyone has had this, and can give me any advice, I'd appreciate it. Peter 1985 300TD

I have just the opposite problem. I get 12 volts on two pins in the gate and a good ground, but wiper does not work. Something must be providing 12 volts to the wrong connector ring inside the wiper. I've had one apart. Or perhaps the switch is permanently on. Unfortunately the fuse also controls other electrical functions. Someone pulled the plug on the wiper motor inside the gate. perhaps this is the reason?
If you find out, please post because the problem is driving me nuts!

I think that there may be two different wirings
I grabbed a rear ww motor from a junkyard (from a non-turbo TD) and the motor appeared to be wired slightly differently than the motor for my 84 300TD. One does not appear to be plug and play compatible with the other.
Fortunately, all I needed was the transmission. If yours is stuck on all the time, it seems worth taking oneor both of the switches from the consol and disconnecting them. If that doesn't work, I guess you could try the fuse. Other than that, you will probably be opening up your tailgate... alec

When mine sticks on, the button is stuck in. Use a knife or thin instrument to see if you can pop it out.

The replacement was plug and play (after an hour's work to remove and replace the old motor.
But the junkyard is shipping me a new motor gratis. Perhaps that is plug and play. And maybe I can cobble enough parts from the two dead motors to make one that works. By the bye - inside the transmission, where the contacts are, the electrical connections are covered in heavy grease. Would that interfere with the current? I know the worm assembly should be lubricated, but I would think that grease would make a poor connection.

If there is grease on the electrical contacts, clean it off. Grease (and oil) does not conduct electricity.
