Pelican confirmed last week that the harness is NLA. I emailed them before ordering.

I (formally) asked my local dealership if they could put a form into Mercedes demanding them to make another run but there are no such channels.

I emailed Tom at classic center and he confirmed they have not been moved to his area and they are indeed "out of production"

Should we start contacting the manufacturer Delphi and see if the license has lapsed so they can produce them without the 'star'? I was told Delphi will not produce until the contract has expired with the car manufacturer, in this case Mercedes.

You might want to contact Victor in the Bronx, from post #247 on this thread: MB Wiring Harness Failure

All of the connector on these should be reusable. You have to unsolder the female sockets that are inserted into connectors, though. Definitely a time-consuming job but if you get the correct gauge wire and lay everything out, you can make it happen.

FWIW, I rebuilt an OM617 GP harness (much less complicated) and it works great. I haven't even checked if my OM606 has the updated version and if I'll need to rebuild it...

I wonder if there is a way to do a global part number search? Surely there is one sitting on a dusty shelf somewhere....?
