1979 Mercedes300SD A/C High pressure hose

1979 Mercedes300SD A/C High pressure hose - Looking for the high pressure hose (smaller of the two hoses, the hot to the touch one) that connects from the air drier to the compressor. It disconnects just under the oil cooler and reconnects at the junction where the high/low connectors are located. It is not very long, but has developed a leak where it connects to the fitting that has the schrader valve.

Is that a YORK compressor system ?
By ' air drier ' could you mean the condensor in front of the radiator ?
Have you removed it to where you might could take measurements and a photo of it ?

If you remove the hose and bring it to a hydraulics shop, they can rebuild it with new barrier hose. That would be the cheapest solution.

1979 Mercedes300SD A/C High pressure hose - Looking for the high pressure hose (smaller of the two hoses, the (hot to the touch one) that connects from the air drier/condensor unit (in front of the radiator with the sight glass and electrical auto control for elec. fan) to the rear of the compressor. It disconnects just under the oil cooler, under the front radiator, and reconnects at the fitting where the high Schrader valve is located , then continues on to the back of the compressor. It is not very long, but has developed a leak where it connects to the fitting that has that Schrader valve. Metal fittings on both ends.

Mxfrank,
thanks for the reply,
have attempted to do that, however, they tell me it is not in the hose, but in the metal fitting just before the schrader valve.

Can you measure it in inches...
and post a picture of it ?
close up pictures of the ends may help.

funola,

Thank you very much for your recent reply. I went to a company that specializes in custom aircraft parts (Boeing Aircraft Company), and they made the part for me in one day. A perfect reproduction. Thank you all for your help.

Good result.

Actually, anyone a little resourceful can quickly repair themselves. Cut off the ferrule crimp - hacksaw and/or cutting wheel, peel w/ pliers. Cut off old hose and peel off fittings. Buy new hose on ebay (priced by foot), best to get "barrier" type, "reduced barrier" is smaller OD (I prefer). On my W123's the high-pressure hose was -10 size I recall. Slickest are Oeticker stepless ear clamps (ebay), crimp w/ cheap "nail puller". Breeze smooth screw clamps also work (ebay). Of course if you have a Master-Cool crimper (me), using ferrules gives a factory look, but not necessarily better.
