euro bumper differences
I checked under a euro car and compared that mounting to a US spec bumper. It has a simple metal bracket about 3 inches to the outside of where the bumper shock would be. Unfortunatly these bumpers were missing the rubber center strip and had a few dents. Anyone know if you can get the rubber strips for these euro bumpers?

To answer an earlier question regarding horsepower, the initial 116 300SD was rated 110bhp (in the US market atleast), while the 126 was 120bhp. I don't know what is different between the two engines or why there was a change in rated power.
Nonetheless, so many people say that the 116 is quicker, it must be true. Perhaps the slight increase in weight combined with a possible change in final drive ratio is responsible for the 126's apparent sluggishness. It is also possible that the older 116s were just tuned better from the factory, and that a 126 could be improved if some time were taken to carefully go over everything... who knows. -Joe |

It must have been the very earliest turbodiesels that were 110... else it's just a faux pas...

Additional smog equipment is probably to blame...EGR, etc....
