OM603 Trap Ox - Whats inside?

I am swapping a turbo OM603 into an old land cruiser. I found the engine on craigslist. It appears to be a factory spare or reman that was never used, it is virginal in the extreme. I have torn off the Trap OX and am screwing around with the adapter and having some parts machined and balanced. I have a Holset HE221W laying around, and will have bonus space in the engine bay so I was thinking of swapping the turbo and intercooling. I have seen the European style manifolds and can see the advantages of the higher mount for the turbo. I was looking at the trap ox and thought, huh, there is a cast iron piece that ties into the manifold and rises above it....and there is the other side that ties into the turbo...if the interviening metal and ceramics are removed, is it possible to convert/clock the trap ox to make a turbo manifold out of it.

Devils workshop....
