I have an 82 300D and I see reference to three double ended threaded rubber isolators that hold the air filter housing on the parts section of this web site.

My car only had the two isolators towards the front of the engine that locate on the metal bracket attached to the cylinder head.

I see a hole towards the rear of the filter housing that could be for the third isolator but no place on the bracket for it to attach.

Is there another bracket possibly on the inner fender for that third isolator at the rear of the air filter housing? Something I am missing?

Your bracket may have the back portion broken off from the constant vibration. Some weld the piece back on (if they have it) and add a bit of reinforcement.

Google 6170900340 to see what it should look like.

That's apparently what has happened. I thought the third/back hole was over towards the fender further but that diagram shows an arm that is missing on mine.
