Wheel bearing mystery
Im doing a full break and bearing job on my 82 300sd and I've run into a snag. I Have the new bearings and races installed in the hub. When i went to put the hub on the spindle it wont go all the way on. Ive done bearings on a bunch of other cars and putting the hub on the spindle is usually not the hard part of the job. I double checked the part number...I've got the right one. Do i have to beat this thing on?

Its a slight interference fit. Sometimes you have to sort of hammer it on with the hub.

Thanks T, i just hit it with some 1500 grit sandpaper and the wire polishing wheel on a dremel and now it slides on with only a little force. Them are some tight tolerances, pretty impressive for a car this old.
