My 240D article for Autotrader.com
My first attempt at giving useful consumer advice for Autotrader.com is about something that will never happen. Here's why the Mercedes 240D is the best car for the zombie apocalypse.

Good work. I'd go for a 207d myself so I could live inside.

(same answer left at Benzworld)
your have the right idea, but the wrong Mercedes. A early diesel G-wagon or even better the diesel Unimogs would be way better! This way you can drive over the piles of dead bodies or around stranded cars or trucks. I get about 15MPG in my Unimog, which is better than the 13.5 MPG in my Jeep Grand Cherokee! |

I don't think you could outrun a zombie in a 240D. Otherwise, good thought process.

I'd add that Avgas and Jet Fuel have longer shelf life than pump gas or diesel and who would think of getting their fuel at the airport! One of the things that bothers me about "Last Man on Earth" is that they haven't exploited Avgas or Jet-A.
