Asking a Favor of the Community

I'm looking to see if there is anyone in the PA area that would be willing to help me out. I have my 1992 300D 2.5 that isn't road ready and my landlord isn't OK with me having it at the house being a project car. Where it's at now I need to move it. I need a place to store the vehicle and have no friends or anyone willing to help with the project. I need a place to store it and work on it (I have my own tools). I'd be willing to pay the price of a storage unit parking spot or help someone out in return with a favor they may need as well. It's a longshot since I don't think we have a lot of members in the Philadelphia area.

I tried storage lockers but they won't let me store it there and work on it. I refuse to get rid of the car as I do the remaining work to it and drive it daily in place of my other two cars. I don't have the extra cash to shell out on the labor time at a shop, I work on my own cars because I'd be broke taking these cars to a shop. I only have to remove and wash out the tank from the algae and do ball joints and fix a few other misc things.

I'd be happy to work with you but I'm geographically undesirable (and undesirable in a few other ways, too). Hope someone can help make this happen.

Thanks, Dan I appreciate it. It's always nice to have someone willing to help and I know this forum community is like that so I'm hoping someone knows someone or is willing to work with me.

I'd put a double strength dose of biocide in that tank and change the fuel filters and run it.

Its gonna be pretty tough to find the 2 things you are looking for a place to store it and also to work on it both. I think with these old cars you need a very big garage, a large lot or acres and a lot of tools. Im kind of in the same predicament as Im trying to find a cheap way to move an M.B. 700 miles from chic. area to eastern pa. If the 85 I was interested in is still available.

300 miles a little too far.

That's what I think I'm gonna do. I was just out running it with some StarTron it and noticed it has a little more power. I put a gallon of diesel in it and am gonna take it out tuesday and drive it to clear it up.

I lack all of that and it's terrible. My landlord doesn't like cars that don't run or "projects", or I'd work on them all day long. My neighbors are pretty cool considering they're family and I wouldn't have concern of getting reported. In 5 or so years I'll have a house of my own I hope. Your situation, I'd have it transported from a carrier. Might cost you two-three hundred bucks.

The thought is what counts. What's a POA neighborhood? Do you live in a condo?

Jake12tech: you might consider joining a local adult education auto repair class. Plenty of helping hands, expert guidance, and quite often they have the space to allow you to leave the car at their facility for a few weeks. Even a high school auto repair program is often looking for projects.

I have land in rural Middle TN that you could use. Unfortunately, the metal thieves have discovered it and the house hasn't been used much in 15 yrs and is a project itself. I'm open to free rent to anyone that is capable and willing to repair the house. The house mainly needs water fixed and paint with a little sheet rock repair. I may go live there this summer.

I wished I wasn't North, or I'd take you up on the offer. And with myself living there, I'd assure you no one would come to rob the place. I'm a member of the NRA and strong 2nd amendment supporter. I've gutted and re-done a house and built an addition with a few other guys, home repair isn't anything.

Startron: From speaking with a rep and online research, they're the same ingredients but diesel version is more concentrated than the gas.
