W123 windshield trim?
Is the moulding around the front windshield aluminum, stainless, or chrome? I am replacing the windshield and would like to polish it. I know the side windows are anodized and dont polish well, but wasnt sure about the windshield itself.
Thanks!

I do not believe it is stainless since it bends very easily. It pays to slowly cut the molding out of the old gasket, pulling it out will bend it and it is almost impossible to straighten.
If it is chrome it would be magnetic, correct? Anyone?

Its important that you express concern to the installers about your windsheild trim .The trim is a vital part of how the gasket works and is part of a completed system.Ask the company that which is installing the windsheild for the installer to be experienced on your application .After one installer hacked up my trim ,I priced the pieces from an MB dealer ,cost was over $300 for the 3 pieces of trim .Kind of a big deal.I sat on the other job and watched my second installer do it correctly, its a bit of a bit%^ and really a 2 person job ,a seasoned installer can be trusted .I wouldnt mess with it as far as polishing it until its installed ,it may interfer with either the installers work or the sealling of the gasket .Aluminium
