1992 w124 OM603
just a question to anyone. how much interest would there be in a 1992 300D in mint condition with a massive stack of maintenance records and a pristine interior with a turn key 603 swap? and if you were interested in such a car and if it existed what would you consider a fair price?

Does it have any uncommon features like manual AC controls, Euro exhaust manifold or a 5-speed? If it's 'just' a US '92 2.5 with a 603, I wouldn't pay more than I would for a factory '87 or '92 in comparable condition. Less if the '92 3.0 has a 722.4. $4000... maybe up to $6000 if it has very low miles for resale value.

I too have big concerns about what trans the car ended up with. Is it a 722.4 or 722.3? That 722.4 is one weak little trans! I love it's ratio spread though. Is there anybody out there who knows how to beef those 722.4s up? Where is the car located? Is it from a rust belt state? I too would like to know if this car was constructed from a 2.5 car or was it a overseas market car. Just exactly how many miles does it have? Does the odometer work? Does the history that the car comes with show the progression of miles through the years? How many miles on the OM603? Does it come with a history too? I can't tell you how many 150,000 mile(ish) 87s that I've looked at with broken odos that "just broke about 10,000 miles ago". Yeah right. That's why the brake pedal has more than twice as much wear on it as my own 211,000 mile Benz has! My favorites though are the ones with newesh looking brake pedals and badly worn steering wheels. These are just some of the burning questions that need to be answered before a person can start throwing dollar amounts around.

OP, where are you? Are we ever going to get to know more about this car? Was that not the purpose of your original post?
I am interested, but I need my questions answered first.
