Dunno, but I would guess around $300 or so. To my knowledge no special tools are required, there is a thread on this forum by a fellow who is rebuilding the transmission from an earlier car, but the basics are the same.

I'm not sure of your question. If you remove and install yourself, rebuild yourself, then just the cost of the rebuild kit. You could gamble on a used transmission, probably about the same cost.
