Fuel Injectors
99 E300D
Anyone out there have any suggestions on replacement fuel injectors? Where to buy them on exchange? Any local indy shops near Trumbull, CT that are capable of cleaning/testing/repairing them? Thanks, Mike Nemec |
Best place I found for Bosch nozzles, Indian Machine Tools on eBay.
Might be a link on this thread, if not search eBay for pop tester. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/321049-pop-testing-rebuilt-injectors-2.html |
Look up greazzer. He's done many and has a good rep. You could go through the learning curve and buy required tools - how many do you want to do and how do you want to send your time?

x2 Greazzer
X2 on Greazzer.
Mark has rebuilt and pop tested a couple of sets of injectors for me. Top notch work and highly recommended. Jeff |
x3 on greazzer.
I sent new 265 Monark nozzles from mercedes source to greazzer along with injectors to be rebuilt for both of my 300SD's. I've also installed his performance overflow valve in both of the 300SD's as well. IIRC, greazzer did have 315 nozzles for sale at one time. |
Anyone know if I need a special socket to remove the fuel injectors? This is for a 99 E300D.
Thanks, Mike |

I have sold my '99 and still have the socket . . . make me an offer?

Mercedes source on the net sells them. No ideal of price. Going to get a small bottle jack and build my own. I estimate around thirty to forty dollars might do it. A small bottle jack with a side refill port. A pressure gauge from harbor freight, A salvaged injector line and a few common pipe fittings should do it. Not big fan of Mercedes source but he does present a few helpful ideals in his utube videos. For example he does mention not to test spray into the open. Instead suggesting a practical containment device. I have mentioned to people over the years to never start to syphon diesel or furnace fuel by mouth. Doing so with gas can result in some real discomfort but you will recover from it. You may not recover from the aspiration of diesel fuel. So logically you do not want to aspirate any output from injectors under test. That gentleman shows you how to construct a testing chamber that vents to outside the space you are testing injectors in. You can easily construct one for only a very few dollars or even just scrounge up what is needed from your junk pile basically for free. You just want nothing to do with a fairly fine atomized fuel in the air where you are. Also I noticed he is using his tester to drive really stuck pistons out of brake calipers. |

Drop him an email with your part numbers, I think from memory he is a Bosch service agent so can get stuff if not in stock - he seemed to know my nozzles straight away including shim sizes.

I just got my injectors back from rebuild. Can anyone tell me the torque when I reinstall?
Thanks, Mike |
