Brake light help!
Ok, folks I need help. In repairing my rear sunshade, on my 350SD, I had to remove the third brake light. The base or console disintegrated beyond repair. I'm hoping to find a used one. There are brake lights galore but few bases. My questions are these. First, has anyone deleted the third brake light all together? Second, if I deleted the light I'd like to do the "brake light upgrade", are there instructions on how to perform this on a W126 chassis? Finally, how can the light warning on the instrument panel be "tricked" so it will not stay on?
Thanks, Sausage King |

Go to a wrecking yard and get what you need (e.g., LKQ in Greenville). There's also the parts forum on this site.
One way to appease the warning light is to keep a bulb hooked up to the wires in the trunk. Maybe someone can tell you the equivalent resistor in place of a bulb. Sixto 83 300SD 98 E320 wagon |
