I've had a car smashed at a brake repair shop many years ago. They drove in a car way fast then realized it had no brakes at all. No contest my car was repaired.

This happened when my E300 got hit in the right side in December 2015. I had it in the body shop and they had it all fixed and ready to go. They had to call me back and inform me that one of the helpers at the shop had backed another car into mine. I ended up with a new hood and grill out of the ordeal as well after waiting another week.

MANY years ago (I was in HS) I was backing a '62 Buick Skylark 4 door out of a parking spot at the back of the dealership I worked in and cut the wheel too hard, running that pretty little pointed front fender into a cabinet. The boss called the owner and the car immediately went to the body shop. The boss knew I felt terrible and didn't beat me up too badly. Most of my pay checks for the next month or more went to pay for my screw-up. I sure learned from that one!

Guess I'm saying that it CAN happen and it's all about how it's handled. But I'm not sure that Mercedes qualifies as an "antique" though I realize it's over 25 years old (the cutoff in my MI days).
