LOST 1974 240D Vacuum Components Diagram

HI,

I have a new 1974 240D W115. The car will not shut off. I would like to check the entire vacuum system but don't have a diagram or solid base to start off of.

Some people say my runs my door locks and trunk and some say no.

I have searched and searched and there's so much info for different years/models but not mine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Diagram if possible or tell me what I should have running so I can check and re run lines, please

The FSM for the W114/W115 models is located here for your future reading pleasure to help you become better acquainted with your 1974 240D W115.
(Factory designation 115.117 - also the first six digits of your VIN).

Rebuilding the vacuum pump is in FSM section 42-620...in case the diaphragm is torn in your pump.

MB has used vacuum controls in a lot of different systems, ignition switch/engine shut off, brake booster, central locking, HVAC, cruise control, headrest positioning, orthopedic seats, headlamp positioning, transmission shifting.
Fortunately, not all these apply in your case.

The door lock vacuum diagram without AC is located in the FSM section 80-900

The door lock vacuum diagram with AC is located in the FSM section 80-901

These diagrams are not showing the entire vacuum system...but it's a start.
Hopefully other can chime in with additional help.

I've never had a 240D, but doing a little more reading, it looks like you have a mechanical shutoff rather than a vacuum shutdown solenoid.

The adjustment of the start and stop cable control is in FSM section 30-340

The MB part number for the cable is 115 300 02 30.
There maybe a broken rubber clad shutdown component of the IP, see post 5 on the attached thread:
76 240d long shutdown

I hope this helps, posting a photo of the cable area may assist forum members in diagnosing the cause of the problem.
