Overload Protection Relay on a W124

I bought a new Kaehler Overload Protection Relay for my 1991 300d but .... it doesn't fit. It only has 6 pins and my old one has 7 and the pins are different. There's no way this will fit, even though it's supposed to be for W124's.

I'm just wondering if they sent me the wrong part or if the 300e W124's are different than the 300d?

Thanks,

jeff

I believe the gas and diesel versions use different relays, based on a lot I've seen in the junkyard. Your car is a 5-cylinder OM-602? and the gas cars use a 6-cylinder M-103 or M-104 (don't remember when MB made that change). EPC will show the different part numbers.

Return it .Wrong one for your car . Give your vin number to obtain the right ovp relay .You should know the vin number .Pluging in other parts can bring a bigger problem along. The number i have is 2015400845 i would check it first . This number was taken off one thats for sale on ebay in uk .

Hi guys, quick FYI:

After receiving complaints (hat tip to Mr. O'Brien on BW for his detailed feedback), in 2018 we made several design changes to URO Overload Protection Relay relay 201 540 3745. We made the circuit board traces wider to handle heat better, and added plastic insulators to prevent PCB to metal case shorts.

In fact, if you check the verified buyer reviews on that big "jungle" online retailer, we received nothing but 5-star reviews in 2019 and 2020 for our updated version of OVP relay 2015403745 !

2021 update: Though we've had good success with our 2nd-generation (2019+) Overload Protection Relay 201 540 3745, we've recently experienced some supply chain issues and are going to have these assemblies manufactured on a new production line.

Unfortunately we'll be out of stock until we have the new 3rd-gen version available, thanks in advance for your patience.

Thanks for the update. Some here fuss about URO parts, but what other supplier provides similar helpful and candid information?
