I need to get the parts for my timing chain, the chain, tensioner, and rails. I looked on this forum's parts catalogue and see a few choices. One for $146 from Bilstein, an entire kit, looks like it might just be a single row chain, not a double, but I put in for a 1991 300d.

Any recommendations on parts?

Stick with IWIS for the chain. Everything else genuine MB for the rails, chain, tensioner etc. It's worth the extra cash to do it right and know the quality of the parts is there. IWIS is the original manufacturer of MB chains.

We have the IWIS double row chain (Part #: 003-997-55-94-M48) - give our MBZ parts specialists a call and they'll be able to help you with kit. Let me know if you have any questions.
