I ship a lot of packages...and about 1 in 200 or so packages gets lost by USPS. They are pretty bad, but much cheaper and more convenient than UPS/Fedex

Still wondering how USPS found the original package and delivered it and the re-ship on the same exact day??? But in the long run I now have it and am happy.

While it was not the intent of the post, perhaps Pelican received some constructive feedback. It is always better talking to each other.

Well, that's disappointing. I'd hardly make a public fuss when service from an otherwise good provider had a problem especially when one can't be sure who was at fault. If the problem really is with the USPS, how is it the fault of the service provider?

Apparently PP shipped the order a 2nd time to service the customer. Now PP is out the cost of one order of parts , shipping and reputation.

OP should return the parcel to PP.

Actually OP has already offered to pay Pelican for the additional parts so they do not suffer a loss.

Post UP DATE

Thursday 4.13.17

O.K. then ~ I was called Monday and told they'd make it right and they did, I'd ordered more parts Monday morning and a lady called me @ 4:55PM to tell me this order was ready for pickup, I asked her when they closed and she said ' 5PM' without a bit of shame......

I was there when they opened the doors Wednesday morning having lost two working days, the always friendly and helpful Tina got both my orders in jig time and offered to do anything necessary to make this right, I tok the parts home and Thursday morning i set to work, the parts were correct and the job is done, as Dmitri said : someone there is paying attention and this is good .

However, saying " in stock" when the truth is, _your_ supplier says the same thing, is dishonest at the very least .

I just retired from 32 years in Auto Parts Supply for the L.A.P.D. and we got screwed many times by Contract Vendors who were supposed to keep our parts in stock but relied on _their_ Suppliers who replied on _their_ suppliers....

This means pissed off Customers waiting while you do a circle jerk to $ave tying up $ in slow moving inventory .

Either STOCK THINGS THERE or stop advertising 'in stock now !' .

I need to order yet more parts and will try to work in the unknown amount of lead time .

Exclamation

Sadly it's the current default business practice because they don't want to tie up the capital necessary.... .

Then they complain that brick and mortar stores cannot compete with the On Line Vendors who usually have full stock on hand at all times for LESS $

Probably a good percentage is drop ship. Makes a lot of sense if you can hold your suppliers accountable. Great for driving SEO and shopping channel traffic too, but accountability is key...

Post Drop Shipping

It's fine as long as you don't tell your Customers " IN STOCK " when it _isn't_ .
