722.3 in W116 SD?

Has anyone put a 722.3 behind a 617 in a 116 SD? What does it take or why won't it work?

The 722.3 is used w/617 in w123 & w126; should be straight forward in w116.

Don't see why not. You'll need the throttle linkage as well as the original w116 transmission uses pressure control rods instead of the bowden cable the later ones do.
