Who will step up to the plate?

I've seen occasional complaints that dealer and independent parts sellers don't have people with detailed knowledge of every part on every MB made. Here is your chance to step it up and make a difference. Who will accept the challenge?

Pelican Parts is Hiring! - Sales Representative

Do you have a vast amount of knowledge of Mercedes and BMW vehicles and parts? Do you have great people skills and enjoy chatting about cars all day? Then you may be the person that we're looking for!

The Sales Representative is responsible for providing a great customer experience by assisting each of our customers with any part or vehicle questions they may have. The Sales Representative is also responsible for utilizing the tools provided in order to obtain sales and meet the department conversion rate goals. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with experience in parts. Daily tasks include:

• Assisting customers through multiple channels: Voice, chat and email
• Utilizing the tools provided in order to assist each customer
• Always meeting the expectations of the customer
• Complete all tasks by the end of each day

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Vehicle & Parts Knowledge Required (Porsche, Mercedes and/or BMW)
• Computer savvy
• Ability to multitask
• Team player
• Organized
• Typing skills

Roles & Responsibilities
Provide a great experience on each call/email/chat that meet the QA expectations
Meet the minimum standards for conversion rate
Meet the minimum standards for total sales
Complete all assigned tasks by end of day

Maybe they want volunteers.


At least a range would be a good idea. So the management doesn't waste time in triage of useless CVs.

FWIW, they're always very nice and polite, just rather clueless about Auto Parts so this may well be the start of something great .

Like most companies today, these requirements jump out:

- complete all tasks by end of day.
Management assigns tasks, so the employee has no control of the expectations. Watch "American Hot Rod" to see unusual expectations.

- meet sales goals.
Depends a lot on pricing, which the employee doesn't control. $170 M-B "shutdown valves" don't sell fast, but would if $40.
