How to secure battery w123
Hey guys, I'm getting the W123 out of storage, but I can't for the life of me remember how the battery was secured to the tray. I don't seem to have any extra parts and I didn't take pictures or anything before I took it out. I'm kinda dumb and clueless right now. Anyone knows?...

There are brackets that bolt down over a couple of threaded rods that stick up from the front of the battery tray. Oem replacements are expensive, but another vendor makes a nice stainless replacement that does not break the bank. PM me if you want info.

Just for posterity, you can make your own easily as well. You can bend a washer in a vise, for instance. Since I have a whole pile of bicycle parts I used a couple of these tabbed washers that come on the rear axles of many bikes:
You just bend the middle tab back the other way so it grabs the battery. Or any other little scrap of metal you might have sitting around, really. -Rog |
