Rear side windows rust around the channels, the vents behind the rear windows rust, the wheel wells rust in the cargo area, also normal 123 rust spots.

Big thing is first thing in the morning, if when started, the rear rises, it is due to leaking somewhere... and a stiff ride is collapsed spheres...

usually when spheres go they make for a bouncy ride and/or it sits low.

There is a valve behind the diff that controls the ride height, worth taking a look at.

It has a lever that is actuated by the swaybar to control the sls level.

Rebuilding the the control valve is a matter of just changing a few o-rings, R&R of the valve is a pain though - be very careful with those line fittings!

and you lose several quarts of fluid as with any repair on the system (like replacing spheres)

There's rod that connects the swaybar to the input lever on the SLS valve. Adjusting this rod longer lowers the suspension set point. make sure it's tight on the sway bar too. It sounds like it's not venting at the top and the system venting through the pressure relief valve.

If you're tidy, you can recover the SLS oil, put a hose on the SLS bleeder and drain to a can. 1-2 quarts will come out.

If both your rear sway bar (plastic) links are broken, who knows where the sway bar is vs where its supposed to be.
