1999 E300D Gravel Shield

Has anyone ever seen one or know how to find the original Mercedes part number? From what I have been told it is a metal shield that runs from the lower radiator support to the back of the engine. From what I'm told they are common on the European models but not the ones over here.

Hello - give us a call at 888-280-7799 and one of our MB part specialists may be able to help you source one or an alternative. Hope this helps a bit and best of luck!

A2105240201 protective plate, oil pan

Listed as NLA, but you might find them on german ebay from time to time
This listing appears to be NOS (new old stock) for 100 euros.

I googled for an hour or more looking for those things. Not sure that is what he was talking about but it looks like it's a start. I wonder if that one goes all the way to the lower radiator support...

My 97 w210 over here in the UK has the 3 sheilds fitted as shown in the link.
Front bumper / engine tray / gearbox tray, all are plastic.
I have just replaced my gearbox speed sensor plate so had all the covers off, gearbox is clean like new and even the gearbox oil cooler shows no corrosion.

Those are nice but what I need is a metal one. I'll build one if I don't find one.

Murkybenz 06-06-2017 09:16 AM

I do not think they do them in metal.

Thanks! With that part number I found this....

anfang

Then with that german, which I had to google translate, I found this:

SGS - Ihr Spezialist fr Gelndewagen, 4x4 und Van Zubehr

Which I think is what I want..... Now to figure out what all that says and how much it cost to get it over here.

Murkybenz 06-06-2017 09:32 AM

Just email them in English and you will get a response, most Germans speak English.

Just in case anyone else is interested its this one:

SGS - Ihr Spezialist fr Gelndewagen, 4x4 und Van Zubehr

Quoted $391.06 to my door. I've put a couple radiators in it already so to me that is a bargain.....

I dont think you will find the metal plate in the US, however you can talk to a few offroad truck shops or farm equipment workshops to make one for you by hand.
