I'm not quite sure of the year because the engine is not on it's original vehicle. the engine is on a 1952 chevy styleline deluxe now.
I believe it may be between 1988-1994. it's a OM602 engine

Well I count 5 intake tubes that means it cannot be a 603.

It is not a 606, those have the injectors under a large central cover, which rules out the 3 models whunter posted. All 3 of those have the OM606 in various forms - 95 and 96-97 have non-turbo engines, and the 98-99 has a turbo.

It's got to be a 602 like you said.

It's part of the breather assembly. It provides a path for blowby gases that make it from the combustion chamber into the crankcase, to be drawn back into the intake system and reburned.

Ah yes, I see it now. It distributes crankcase gases from the valve cover hose to the manifold runners.

The engine is internally called an OM662 which is a 2-valve IDI OM602 licensed for manufacture by SsangYong in S. Korea.

FWIW, I imagine the vent hose can either be plumbed to the air cleaner or vented through an oil trap to atmosphere.

Is the OP in Cuba? Second guess is the Philippines.

A slight amount of oil in the tube is normal. The piston rings and valve guides are not perfect seals, and some combustion gases naturally push past these points. When the gases vent out to the tube, some oil gets carried along.

Oil vapor in the crankcase vents out through the big hose attached to the valve cover. In the interest of limiting emissions, the oil vapor is ingested to be burned in the engine. It's difficult to measure what's too much oil vapor which indicates worn piston rings and other engine wear. But do you mean oil is leaking out of fittings or is the distribution pipe cracked?

The tube from the center of the valve cover is the "outlet" tube - the one that relieves the pressure.

The tube you have circled is the "inlet" tube, that carries the vapors to be re-burned to the intake.
