W123 suspension and drive line torque
Hey ya'll I've got my entire front suspension (including sway bar and guide rods) COMPLETELY dissassembled so I can replace all the worn rubber components and joints. i'm going to do the same for my rear suspension trailing arms, sway bar, and subframe mounts, as well as the entire drive shaft assembly. Im also swapping diffs and reshimming all four coil springs..
************** My question is, what needs to have final torque done with the four wheels on the ground? Also this means under the whole unassisted weight of the car correct? no jack supports or ramps or nada? Any torque values *or tips* you guys have would be ultra convenient as well. Thank you gents and gentettes for all your help as always!

Ideally torque everything with the car sitting on its wheels. At least everything that flexes with a bolt that isn't oriented up-down.
What might help is to have the car on 3 wheels and the lower arm of the corner you're working on a jack to its natural level. Sixto 98 E320s sedan and wagon |
