Where does white tube for turbo wastegate connect to turbo?

1998 e300td here.

Found the white tube from EGR solenoid, followed around back of engine to passenger side and it is just hanging.

Can't find where to plug it in to turbo, help please.

I don't know anything about a 98 e300TD but on my 84 300SD that line is connected to a banjo bolt on the rear/back of the exhaust manifold.

That may be the vac line to the wastegate. It could also be the vac source for the transducer (solenoid). Is there vacuum present all the time? Either way, it should be activating the CEL. My friend has the same car, and I can have a look at it later if I can get over to his house (going to be a crazy busy day for me).....Rich

Hey Rich, Thanks!

Take a look if you don't mind. Yes, the car is throwing a P0400 EGR code., So I traced the line and it was connected to nothing lol. Since it is coming out of the EGR transducer, It's a vucuum hose going somewhere, I just don't know where😁

And, of course, the car is now in limp mode, no boost.

The EGR is on the opposite side, so maybe the line goes from one side to the other. I am just going by memory, but the EGR transducer is near the EGR, the wastegate transducer is near the turbo (opposite sides). That could be the vacuum feed to the other side (EGR). Look for the same color line going from one side to the other. Also maybe check if there is vacuum to the EGR transducer. If not, you have probably found the problem.

Just looked at mine. That line should be connected to a vacuum transducer that sits directly below the MAF.

Right sherytex, thats what I thought but I can't see where it connects to the vacuum transducer. Got a pic to share maybe?

And thank you!

Goes into the top of the transducer and is connected via a rubber connector.

Ok plugged the vacuum hose back in, cleared the. code and still getting the P0400, and of course limp mode.

Seriously considering EGR delete anyway. Gonna check the vacuum on the transducers before I do anything though.

Here's the stats on what I am getting at 1300 rpm:

MAP: 28.3 hg
MAF: 4.2 lb.

Any other ideas?

Again, Thanks to all for your input!

Btw, I am at 800 ft above sea level if that makes a difference to the MAP.

I would double check to make sure you have no vacuum leaks anywhere in the system.
