UK Model '84 300D Air Con Condensor Radiator replacement

Greetings,

My original radiator has finally sprung a leak. MB UK doesn't sell a replacement so I'm going to have to turn to an OEM supplier.

Any recommended brands/ stores where I can purchase it? A part number will help me source one across the pond.

Many thanks!

Condenser 1984 300D

Brother !
Now I "See" why you're over here.

NO CONDENSERS offered for that year model chassis O.E. or Aftermarket
(Let's hope it's not now Unobtainium!)

Mercedes Does have a Classic Center in Deutschland

https://www.mercedes-benz.com/en/mercedes-benz/classic/classic-service-parts/mercedes-benz-classic-service-parts/

And if you can't find it anywhere else I'd give them a call!

These guys are very knowledgeable and May be able to steer you to a local supplier.

https://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/

I "SEE" a lot of different UK Parts Suppliers online BUT
'Have no idea which ones are "Dodgy" as they would say in Londinium.

Been here for a while now... love Peach Parts, even if it is long distance!

Would you happen to have the part number or a link to a US supplier? I could have it shipped to me potentially.

Cheers!

The Cat is on the roof, the cat is slipping, the cat has fallen...

I Looked at all the usual suspects
AND I'm sorry to say couldn't even find a part number for it!
(Very Suspicious)
Which is why I suggested the Classic Center

If ,(AND I always thought ONE of the reasons for owning a Mercedes was:
Parts would always be available OR The Factory would quote a price for
Custom "Re-Manufacture" from Original engineering Prints)
There Ain't None Anywhere...

I'd look into a "Universal" that would fit and could be adapted.

Does UK models have the AC condenser fittings on the opposite side? If not, this one may fit

If the connections for the condenser are on the right side of the car, then a US spec one should work. However, I would go with aftermarket and even Parallel Flow for the condenser. If the radiator is for a turbo, they are available. If it is for an N/A, you are probably going to have to source a used one. You may get lucky and find an early copper and brass radiator, and they can be rebuilt/repaired many times.

I must be looking this wrong but it doesn't look like the identical unit.

Contacted the Classic center who routed me to my nearest MB dealer. After a few emails back and forth, I got the part number: A1268300670.

Perhaps you would know of a US supplier?

The view of the pic you posted is not helpful. What you want is a view looking down at the whole engine compartment which show the fittings of the condenser and the AC hose routing. On US spec 300D's the condenser fittings is by the right headlight (while sitting in the car).

Here's what a US spec condenser looks like

Front engine bay pics attached. Looks like the condensor is connected on the right hand side (same side as RHD steering wheel). This looks to be the same as the US Turbo Diesel condenser though I would have assumed it would be well known by now if they were interchangeable.

That looks exactly like every 123 A/C condenser I have seen here in the 'States (and I have seen many).
