Restoring my 75 240d...for Fall Shindig! - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hi,
This weekend I have begun the task of restoring my 75 240d.
After changing belts, coolant, and cleaning injectors. I drove for awhile and she stopped smoking. Brakes feel hard, may be Vac pump.
Any suggestions on what to look for? I want a car to that reliable.

Im using a 74 240d as a donor car, It runs great but due to water leak in rear window, the floor and trunk are gone. It has factory radio in it, which I will be moving into my 75 soon.

I hope to have ready for the Fall Shindig.

Ok, Bill, the 17th of Nov is open as of this morning.... Did you consider any Oct dates for this ?

Yes, I still have the truck and trailer. If I come down by myself, then yes the car would be coming, even if I have to trailer it. If Justin comes to the fall one, then I was figuring on riding with him in the Golf TDI. I pretty much drive right by his house on the way down to Austin, so it is one of those things where carpooling becomes a no brainer. Now, if by some lucky chance, I get the car DRIVEABLE, then I'll drive it down regardless.

Oh yes, Nov. 17 would be no problem here either.

Diesel Power, If you come in the Golf... we will issue you a Mercedes Grill which straps on to your car like a bra.... that should be a conversation starter....
