same day parts nyc?

mechanics can get parts same day from wholesalers.

how can us customers get parts same day in nyc?

stores like advanced auto parts and autozone usually don't have the preferred brands.

ordering online is ok but takes a few days and costs extra.

thanks.

Go to the dealer if you want same day parts.

Not usually, the big warehouses only deal with large volume buyers like independent auto parts and maybe major chain repair centers. Volume buyers look up the part numbers and brand then transmit the data to the warehouse, the warehouse looks up nothing. That's why it is called wholesale.

What year, make , model car? The older and less common, the less likely it will be in a local warehouse.

NAPA usually can get branded parts.

Not always, I know that there is an online parts seller that uses a warehouse in the Bronx. However, not everything I order comes from that warehouse.

The sponsor of this site sells online, I'd order from them more if they were not so far away.

Repair shops either order through parts stores or warehouse suppliers, depending on the size and volume of the shop. But for older Benz's, you're going to have a problem. Mercedes dealers can get most available parts overnight. Autozone and such can't be bothered stocking for older cars. You'd need to find an independent who has a relationship with Keystone or similar warehouse distributor. In Westchester, I use Mt Kisco Truck Parts (it ain't just trucks) in or Levine in Norwalk. They let you order online and pickup in store, although I've never tried these services. Both supply a lot of local independent shops.

At one time, there was a dismantler in Elmsford that specialized in Benz, but they went out of business about 15 years ago.

Make friends with a local mechanic who will order the parts for you. Tip them generously for helping you out.

thanks.

the benz dealer is actually super far for me, i'm in north brooklyn. i may as well go to my usual shop, kraft german auto in south brooklyn, if i'm gonna go that far. kraft gets parts same day, and the shop i went to before that did as well. by mechanic i meant repair shop.

i'll try the napa, and another local repair shop.

what's the online parts store in the bronx?
i just ordered from fcp euro in CT, but even that will take longer than i need, especially since it took me a couple days to get around to getting online.

the napa in north brooklyn doesn't have and can't get parts.

i found out there's a mercedes dealer half hr away, instead of an hr away, it's just not called "mercedes dealership of ..." it's silver star in long island city, queens.

parts cost more than online but at least it'll be same day

It is one of the ones that says " all the parts you car will ever need." . However, you never know for sure what warehouse they are coming from until you place the order, it ships and run the tracking number.

There are probably 24 + warehouses they ship from and I doubt they own all of them. I've ordered "warehouse clearance" parts that have had national chain store shipping stickers on them. ( RE, the national chain uses the warehouse and the part was returned then was shipped by the online place. )

This mail order has always had limited MB stuff and will continually shrink because front line warehouses are not going to keep old stuff on the shelf. This is where Peach Parts comes in.

I don't think that is correct these days. I think the business model for most Mercedes dealers is to limit the parts stock that they have on hand. There are warehouses from which they can get one-day delivery. UPS and Fed Ex (and maybe USPS) are so efficient that they can provide next-day delivery over areas that cover hundreds of miles. The dealer I use stocks lots of small stuff that is in substantial demand, but most other things are not in stock but can be delivered the next day.

When I buy something for my car, I generally check with the dealer first for price and availability. That tells me whether the price I can get elsewhere is reasonable. For example, when I bought my exhaust system (cat and the pipe including muffler that goes to the end of the car), the dealer price was over $2,000 and was not in stock. I got it on-line for less than half that price. The same was true for a power steering pump I needed. They also told me I needed an injection pump, but it was not in stock. (That was wrong. I needed a shut off valve.)

Deliveries are so fast these days that dealers don't have to carry huge stocks of parts like they used to.
