sunshades, what are you guys using?

having fixed the AC and wanting to drive the 300cd more often I've started searching for a suitable sunshade.

lots of options.

almost all are custom cut.

coverking
covercraft
heatshield

to name a few.

all take 2-3 weeks, so I'm wondering which one actually fits well and lasts.
im guessing there are not returns on these.

I just get the basic spring loaded ones from Walmart. The kind that springs open into a rectangle with rounded corners.

They only cost about $10 but if you don't abuse them they seem to last just fine.

Same as jay_bob here. I have those in all 3 of my vehicles. The one in the Yaris is 9 years old and still working fine.

I'm sure the custom ones fit better and likely to last longer. I've used the accordion folded type and the spring loaded round ones. The foil-faced accordion type will definitely outlast the spring-loaded type, which are lucky to last a little over a year before they start to flake and disintegrate. I'm talking about a continual use. The spring-loaded ones are just easier to store.

I like Eclipse sunshades: https://eclipsesunshades.net/ I think AutoZone sells them, too. There is no way I could deal with setting up a sunshade every time I park. Mine so far have lasted 5 years of continuous use. One of the retractors broke after about 4 years of use, but I ordered a new one from the company and replaced it myself.

I use a HeatShield. It was custom made for my W123. They cost more but won't fall apart and do significantly drop the inside temp over AutoZone brands.

Dkr.

I as looking at that promo earlier.
It doesn't have 300cd listed in the models. just 300d.
